After Tens of Thousands of Lives Lost, This Abortion Center Is Closing

For decades, a small building just off Randleman Rd in Greensboro stood as one of the darkest places in that city.

Tucked away behind a tire shop and an Asian restaurant, it would be easy to miss. But since the early 90’s, precious lives have been destroyed inside as women walked in to take the lives of their children through abortion.

But that is about to change.

After more than 30 years, this abortion center has announced it will cease abortions on March 31 and close its doors for good on April 30.

An estimated 75,000 to 100,000 children lost their lives at this location, and countless women and men have been impacted by what took place inside. Though ownership changed over the years, its purpose remained the same: to end the lives of preborn human beings under the guise of “health care.”

Since 2018, our Love Life team has been mobilizing the Church in Greensboro to show up and pray. Long before we arrived, faithful believers were already there, offering hope to those entering the “A Woman’s Choice” abortion center. As more of the Church became aware, the presence of prayer grew, and so did the opposition.

In 2020, during the early days of Covid, prayer walkers and pastors were told they could not gather, even as the abortion center continued operating as normal. When they chose to stand and pray anyway, some were arrested.

The inconsistency was hard to ignore. While the clinic remained open and filled with patients, those offering prayer and help outside were treated as a problem.

What was meant to silence the Church only strengthened its resolve. God used that moment to expose what was happening and to amplify the call for the Church to show up.

But this story isn’t just about a building that is closing.

It’s about what happens when the Church shows up.

Pastor Lee Stokes had never spoken about abortion, even though his church was located right next to this abortion center in Greensboro. That changed when his church partnered with Love Life and adopted a week.

During that week, his church prayed and fasted together. And on that Wednesday, something unexpected happened. The power at the abortion center went out, and no abortions were performed that day.

And that week, three moms chose life.

By the end of the week, the church was standing together at one of the most powerful prayer walks we have seen at this very location.

This is what happens when the Church steps into the mission field.

And this has not been an isolated moment.

Over the years, God has done far more than we could have imagined in Greensboro:

Over 200 churches have partnered in this mission
Almost 30,000 people have come out to pray
Over 350 babies have been saved

This is what happens when the Church is united and mobilized.

On May 9, we will gather one final time in Greensboro.

Not to protest, but to pray, to worship, and to thank God for what He has done.

We will stand on the very ground where so many lives were lost and declare that darkness does not get the final word.

If you have ever prayed, given, or stood with us in this mission, this is your moment to come and see what God has done.

Join us in celebrating this victory, and if you’re able, come stand with us at this final celebration prayer walk.
