A Safe Haven for Late Term Abortion or a Mission Field for the Church?

For months something dark and sinister has been brewing under the surface in one of Chicago’s oldest neighborhoods. The Hope Clinic, late term abortion center, quietly opened for business in early June. This facility boasts on its social media, “Introducing Hope Clinic Chicago: OPEN Abortion Care for all trimesters.” Meaning they perform abortions through all nine months of pregnancy.

Chicago, Illinois is one of the most pro abortion cities in one of the most pro abortion states in our country. Under state law, there is no set limit on how far into pregnancy abortions can be performed. If a provider claims it is for the mother’s health, even if that simply means emotional stress, they can end the life of a baby well past the point of viability.

What’s even more disturbing is that this clinic is not just targeting women in Chicago. It is drawing women in from pro life states across the country. Women who cannot legally have these procedures where they live are now being sent here. Chicago has become a safe haven for late term abortion, and this facility is proudly opening its doors to do what others will not.

But while this clinic may have slipped in quietly, God was already raising up a response. Juan Reisco, our Chicago City Director, was born and raised just blocks from where this facility now stands. This is his neighborhood. These are his streets. And now, by God’s grace, he and his team are showing up every week to be a light in this place of darkness.

Juan’s story is one of radical transformation. From drug trafficking and brokenness to bold faith and street ministry, he knows firsthand the power of the gospel to save. And now he is bringing that same hope to the sidewalk, offering life, truth, and the love of Christ to the very women this clinic is targeting. You can watch Juan share his full testimony here.

But the Church is not sleeping. As the truth about this clinic comes to light, God is stirring His people. Pastors are speaking up. Believers are stepping out of their comfort zones. Men and women who have never stood on a sidewalk in front of an abortion center are now showing up to be a voice for those who have no voice.

New volunteers are coming forward. New churches are saying yes. The presence of this clinic has stirred something deep, and the Church is answering the call to be a voice for the voiceless. This is not about being seen or making noise. It is about bringing the hope of the gospel to a place that desperately needs it.

What the enemy tried to plant quietly in this neighborhood, God is using to wake up His people. The light is breaking through, and the darkness will not have the final word.

If you live in the Chicago area and want to be part of what God is doing, we invite you to join Juan and the team on the sidewalk. Whether it’s through prayer, giving, or showing up to stand for life, there is a place for you.

If you don’t live near a Love Life but want to help us continue this work, your support makes a real difference. Your giving helps raise up leaders, equip volunteers, and bring the gospel to places like this where it is desperately needed.
