When Pastors Lead, Lives Are Saved

Every spiritual awakening begins when pastors lead their people to seek God together. Last week, we saw that truth come alive as 67 churches across the nation partnered with Love Life to pray, worship, and stand for life at abortion centers in their cities. When shepherds lead the way, the Church follows, and the light of Christ shines in the darkest places.

In Fayetteville, North Carolina, Pastor Zach Kelley of Breezewood Church helped lead the largest prayer walk their city has ever seen. 265 believers filled the sidewalks, praying and worshiping outside an abortion center where, on most Saturdays, 15 to 20 women would arrive for abortions. But while the church was there, none came. God’s presence and the prayers of His people changed the atmosphere that morning.

In Riverside, California, God moved in a miraculous way. As the prayer walk was taking place across the street, a mother inside the abortion center discovered she was carrying twins. The moment she heard the news, she got off the table, told the staff she was done, and walked out. She met one of our sidewalk outreach volunteers, received help, and walked one block over to Riverside Life Services. That mother chose life for her twin boys.

In Detroit, two more babies were saved during the prayer walk as believers stood together in faith (read the story here). In South Florida, churches gathered in both Miami and Broward County, while Seattle and Washington DC held their very first Love Life prayer walks.

In total, 2,433 believers from 67 churches joined together last week, and 20 babies were saved from abortion. This is the fruit of pastors leading and churches responding, a clear picture of the Church stepping into its calling to protect the most vulnerable.

God is using pastors and churches to awaken cities and rescue families. As the Church continues to rise together, we believe we will see even more stories of redemption and life in the weeks ahead.
