God Does More Than We Could Ask or Imagine

This is a testimony shared by Sam Frye of how God used their family and the Church to minister to 5 little girls in need of a home.

For years, we longed to grow our family.

We had been pursuing adoption through an agency. One year passed, then two… and our hope began to fade. The waiting stretched us in ways we didn’t expect. We couldn’t see what God was doing.

Then, about ten months ago, everything changed.

A friend from our church came across a post from Beth Mull, the Raleigh Director of Love Life. It shared about a pregnant mom living in a local shelter who needed help caring for her little girls.

I was out of town when my wife called me. “There are four girls,” she said. “Ages 4, 3, 2, and 1… and their mom is expecting her fifth.” She also mentioned that the mom was considering placing the baby for adoption.

Without knowing all the details, we said yes.

We reached out to Beth and made plans to pick up the girls. Overnight, our family of three was about to become a family of seven… and soon, eight. Our lives were about to be turned upside down in the best way possible.

By that weekend, our church had rallied around us. Beds, car seats, high chairs, diapers… everything we needed showed up.

Just four days after bringing the girls home, we returned to the shelter to pick up the newborn baby girl. She was only four days old. Now, all five sisters were together under one roof.

Six months later, we are in the final stages of adopting the baby, and just a few months ago, their biological mom asked if we would adopt all five girls.

Our answer was immediate.

Yes.

We have been overwhelmed watching the body of Christ come together. Love Life helped provide for preschool, connected the mom with support, and walked with us every step. Churches showed up with meals, clothing, and constant prayer.

But the real hero in this story is their biological mom.

She chose life when it wasn’t easy.

Because of her yes, five little girls now have a future filled with love, faith, and hope. God is raising up something through her decision that will echo far beyond what we can see.

Looking back, we realize something now that we couldn’t see then.

God was not absent in the waiting.

He was writing a story.

A story bigger and more beautiful than anything we could have imagined.

All God wants is your yes.

And when you give it, He will do immeasurably more than you could ever ask or imagine.

Today, our family stands as a testimony to the power of prayer… prayer that fights for life, stands for hope, and speaks for those who cannot speak for themselves.
